Who can play in the Alpine League?

The Alpine League is open to Swiss residents. Every tournament caps how many players with a non-Swiss nationality a roster may field, and that nationality is read from each player's profile — so keep your profile up to date. Check the tournament rulebook for the exact limit.

Do I need to link my Riot account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every player on a roster must have a Riot account connected before the team can register — registration is refused otherwise. League of Legends and VALORANT share the same Riot identity, so you only ever link once, from your account settings.

Question 3

What is my profile used for?

Accepted Answer

Your profile holds the nickname shown on match lineups, team pages and standings, plus your nationality, which decides whether you count against a tournament's foreign player limit. It also collects your match record and the tournaments you have played.

How many players does my roster need?

Accepted Answer

At least as many players as the tournament fields on the server — five for a 5v5 — and at most that number plus the allowed substitutes. Managers do not count as players, so a manager does not take up a roster slot.

Can I play for two teams in the same tournament?

Accepted Answer

No. A player can be an active player on only one team registered in a given tournament. If you are already on another registered roster, the second registration is rejected. You can of course play for different teams in different tournaments.

Question 6

What is the difference between an owner, a manager and a member?

Accepted Answer

The owner runs the team and is the only non-admin who can check the team in for a tournament. Managers help administrate the roster but are usually not players. Members are the players themselves. Any member can be flagged as a player or not, and only players can be put into a starting lineup.

How do I register my team for a tournament?

Accepted Answer

Create a team, add your players, and register from the tournament page while registration is open. Your roster has to satisfy the size, nationality and Riot account rules at that moment, and the tournament must still have a free slot.

Question 8

Registration is already closed. Can we still get in?

Accepted Answer

Not through the website — registration is refused once the tournament's registration window has closed or its first stage has started. Admins can still add a team by hand, so get in touch if you think you have a case.

Question 9

What is check-in and when do I have to do it?

Accepted Answer

Check-in confirms your team actually intends to show up. The team owner checks in from the tournament page during the check-in window shortly before the tournament starts. When a tournament uses a check-in window, only teams that checked in are drawn into the first stage. Check-in is final — there is no way to undo it.

Can we withdraw after registering?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as the tournament has not started yet. Once any stage has been started the bracket is fixed and withdrawal is blocked — at that point contact an admin instead of leaving your opponents without a match.

How do we get into the game lobby?

Accepted Answer

For League of Legends the tournament code is created automatically once both teams have readied up, and appears on the match page for the players involved. For VALORANT the teams set up the custom game themselves following the rulebook.

Question 12

What is the starting lineup and who submits it?

Accepted Answer

Before a match each team readies up and submits its starting lineup — exactly the number of players the tournament fields, all active players of your team. Readying up again replaces it, so you can fix a mistake right up until the game is created. After that an admin can still correct a wrong lineup.

Question 13

What happens if my team cannot play at the scheduled time?

If the stage allows rescheduling, propose a new date from the match page at least 48 hours before the current kick-off. Your opponent has to accept it before it takes effect, and only one proposal is active at a time.

Question 14

The other team did not show up. What now?

Accepted Answer

Wait out the delay the rulebook grants, take a screenshot of the empty lobby, and report it to an admin. Admins decide no-shows and mark the match as forfeited - your team gets the win by walkover, without a fake score.

Question 15

Who enters the match result?

Accepted Answer

League of Legends games played on a tournament code report themselves back to us when the game ends. Where player reporting is enabled both teams submit the score and the two reports have to agree. Admins can always enter a result directly, and that overrules everything else.

Question 16

The two teams reported different scores. What happens?

Nothing is recorded while the reports disagree — the match stays open with both reports visible, and an admin settles it. As soon as an admin enters the result the pending reports are cleared.

How are standings and tiebreakers decided?

Teams are ranked by series won first. Ties are then broken by the rules the stage is configured with, applied in order — the record among the tied teams, the game win difference, or the round difference from the individual games. A series is won as soon as a team takes the majority of its games, so two in a best of three.

Question 18

Why did my team skip a round in the bracket?

That is a bye. When a bracket does not fill up evenly some teams advance from the first round without playing, so that the later rounds line up properly. Byes are drawn when the bracket is generated and follow the seeding.

How are prizes paid out?

Accepted Answer

Prize money is distributed after the tournament is completed and all results are confirmed. The amount per placement is listed on each tournament page, and the prize pool is simply the sum of those placements.

I found a bug or something looks wrong. Where do I report it?

Accepted Answer

Reach out to the admins through the usual community channels with the match or tournament link and a screenshot. Result and lineup mistakes can be corrected after the fact, so it is worth reporting even once a match is over.
